Having Fun With The Razor E100 Electric Scooter
No comments · Posted by Gabriel Washington in Recreation & Sports
Showing up more and more often on the streets are scooters, ridden by small children, or their dads, who just want to try it out for a couple of minutes. While not exactly suitable for off-road or down-hill riding, scooters can provide a smooth ride, on a nice, even sidewalk. They are also a nice way for your children to learn the balance required for riding a bicycle.
The different colors in which scooters come, make them attractive to both boys and girls. Perfect as gifts on all occasions, scooters will make your entire family say: “I want to try it too”. Just make sure they bring it back afterwards, or, just to be on the safe side, buy a couple of extras, in case of emergencies.
Children who have not ridden a bike before might have some problems riding a scooter, because balance can be hard to attain, but once they have that nailed down, it’s easy riding. Different models of scooters can be found, from the ordinary, 2 wheeled one, to 3 wheeled scooters and ones with electric motors.
The Razor E100 Electric is a battery powered scooter, that makes traveling easy and fun. While having a low maximum speed, the scooter does have the advantage of not making you tire, so it’s perfect for people using it to get to work. Charging the battery should be done every night, before use, to avoid being left in the middle of the park.
The fact that electric scooters keep going after a certain speed means that children do not have to worry about speed. They will find it much easier to learn balance like this, and this will also come in handy when learning how to ride a bike.
The low speed of the scooter, at least when compared to a bike, makes it easier for children to stop, thus keeping them safe. However, protective equipment should still be used whenever riding it and adult supervision is also required, under a certain age. Keep them out of harm’s way!

Taking to the Ski Slopes this Winter?
No comments · Posted by Suzanne Noctor in Recreation & Sports
If you are intending to go on a skiing trip this winter then it is important that you purchase the right equipment. Along with your clothing you will also need to make sure that you get a good pair of ski boots. But as there are so many different types available it can prove somewhat of a challenge for those who have never skied before to decide which ones are going to be suitable for them.
Therefore before you invest what is going to be quite a bit of money in your ski boots it is a good idea to spend some time learning a little more about them. In this article we take a look at just some of these things and which will help you to determine which of them is going to be the best pair for you.
As mentioned above boots for skiing come in a number of different styles and are arranged as to how they will be worn. Below we take a look at the different ways in which ski boots can be worn by you.
1. Rear Entry – These are the style that are perfect for someone who is only just learning to ski. These are the simplest ones to put on and take off and the buckles to tighten them around your leg are at the rear. These boots are the least expensive to buy and make the perfect choice if you won’t be skiing on a regular basis. Also it is worth considering if trying skiing for the first time to rent a pair for your trip rather than buying.
2. Front Entry Boots – These boots are worth considering purchasing when you would like to be more in control of your skiing because they allow you to make more precise movements. Also referred to as overlap ski boots these are a pair that skiers opt for who would like to improve their performance and become more versatile in their skiing. Unlike the first boots we discussed these have four buckles to keep the boot in position at the front rather than the rear.
3. Mid Entry Boots – When it comes to these boots for skiing this offer the best of both the boots we mention above. They allow you to easily put them on and take them off as the buckles are at the rear. Plus as with the rear entry boots you will discover that they only come with one or two clips to allow them to remain in place when worn rather than 4 that the front entry style have. However, they allow you much more versatility and help to enhance your skiing performance in exactly the same way as the front entry style does.
If you are intending to go skiing regularly then it is worthwhile considering spending money on a pair of the more expensive front or mid entry ski boots. Not only will these allow you to move more easily as you ski but will help to ensure that the skills you have learnt can be improved upon. Also it is worthwhile actually trying out a number of different styles and pairs in order to determine which feel the most comfortable on.
