Important Camping Gear You Will Always Need
No comments · Posted by Tiffany Ellis in Recreation & Sports
Some camping trips can definitely be more fun than others. Getting where you are going and not having everything you really need can be a big bummer. The one sure way to make sure you take everything necessary is to make a check list right from the start. As important as the tent you take along is, there are other things you must have just as much.
You could end up in serious trouble if you forget to put a first aid kit at the top of your check list. You never set out on a camping trip expecting to get hurt or sick, but it happens a lot more often than people are prepared for. A lantern is a necessity because in the night you might not be able to see well enough with just a flashlight or a fire. If there is a snake or spiders lurking around, you certainly want to be able to see those easily.
Bringing along chairs to sit in just makes good sense. If the ground is wet, you won’t like sitting there and then there are always creepy crawly bugs down there too. A camping stove is a good to have as a back up plan. A rotisserie and grill for the campfire is fun for cooking, but sometimes a stove will be easier if you are in a hurry or can;t get you fire started for some reason.
Having an air bed that you can inflate easily will make it a lot more pleasant when you are trying to sleep. Having to sleep on the cold and hard ground is not many people’s idea of a good time and will often contribute to making you cranky and ill. No one wants to have to deal with a cranky camper so a sleeping bag alone might not be the best answer for some.
There are a couple of other things like a tent fan and a tent light that will also make your camping trip a little easier. Tent lights are a great help when you need to find something in the tent at night, like a bug or spider. A tent fan will give you just enough of a breeze to help you sleep a little better if it is really hot. Your camping check list should be personalized just for you. What you might need, someone else might not. The point is to have as much fun and enjoyment as possible and this is more likely if you take what you really need.
